Enter the address in the text box in the top left hand corner and press find. Enter a new address

Select a new crime category from the dropdown list at the top of the page and press the 'Search' button

Enter a new start date in the first text box and an ending start date in the second text box and click 'Search' Select a new date range
Alternately, you can click the calendar buttons on either side of the inputs and select a date from a calendar. Use calendar to select a new date range
How can I move around in the map? Back to top...
Fixed Pan Fixed Pan - Click on an arrow and the map will move in the desired direction.
Pan Pan - You can select this tool by clicking on it to make it active. When it is the active tool, click on the map and move it in the desired direction. This will update the area displayed in the map.
Zoom In Zoom In - You can select this tool by clicking on it to make it active. To zoom in, drag a box over the area of interest. The map will update showing the new extent on the map.
Fixed Zoom In Fixed Zoom In and Zoom Out - This tool allows the map to change the visible extent of the map by zooming in (showing more detail) or zooming out (showing less detail).

Depending on the number of incidents that occur in a specific area, they may be grouped together to keep the map easy to understand. Varying dot size

By clicking on the 'Data' tab, the page will show a list of all the incidents that were shown in the map.

Yes, by clicking the link in the 'Location' column, the page will show you a map centered on that location.
Can I save the information to use in another program? Back to top...
Yes, on the 'Data' tab, there is an option to download the data. By clicking on the button, it will save all of the incidents that are in the table on the page.
What is a CSV file? Back to top...
CSV stands for Comma Seperated Values. It is a file type that stores tabular data with values seperated by a comma and rows stored on a new line. A CSV file can be opened in almost all spreadsheets and database programs.

For application performance reasons, the number of records that are shown in the data tab are limited to 500 records.

For data security reasons, the incidents have been normalized down to a block level address.

For application performance purposes, the date range is limited to 30 days. We are expecting a large number of people to access the site and want to make sure that it is accessible to everyone. As the usage is better understood, the date range my increase.

No, right now the application only has the layers that are shown on the map. It is planned that in the near future aerial photographs will be included int he application. If you think any other layers might be useful in the view, please fill out the survey and let us know.

The incident data is updated once approximately every 24 hours.
How do I know when this data was last updated? Back to top...
In the upper right hand corner of the page, there is a date and time that notes when the incident data was last updated.
